Parents
BVA considers parents essential partners in the education of their children. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate regularly in their student’s learning and community events throughout the year. The school promotes active parent involvement and community participation in support of school services, securing the commitment of time, energies, and expertise to improve the quality of education at BVA.
Our parent club called the Community Volunteer Organization (CVO) meets monthly and raises funds for field trips. Parents volunteer in classrooms, on field trips, and through take home projects. Parents also volunteer on Board Committees, community social events, parent education nights, and have contributed to our annual Family Share campaign.
BVA staff encourage family involvement in their children’s academic success; BVA teachers communicate in person, via email and through Parent Square in English and Spanish, and conferences with parents, assisted by Spanish language interpreters as needed, to effectively engage with all parents. Through parent involvement and other educational strategies, BVA personnel and families meet the diverse learning needs of our student population.
