We are thrilled to share some exciting news — our Charter Renewal Petition has officially been approved, and Bay View Academy’s charter has been renewed for another five years! This is a wonderful accomplishment that reflects the dedication of our students, staff, families, and community. Thank you for your continued support, partnership, and belief in our school mission. We are proud of all we have accomplished together and look forward to the years ahead!
As we wrap up another incredible school year, please see the following important information:
- The finalized and board approved 2026–27 School Calendar. Printed copies are available in the front office of both campuses.

Monday, June 1st: Sea Star Games for grades 1st - 4th. Sea Star Games is a beloved BVA tradition filled with relay races, team spirit, laughter, and fun. Please note that some activities will include water games, so students should come dressed appropriately and may want to bring a change of clothes. Volunteer signups will be shared soon.

Tuesday, June 2nd: Shark Games: For Upper School students, Shark Games consist of relays, team challenges, and friendly competition designed to celebrate teamwork and school pride. Because some activities involve water, chalk and outdoor play, students should dress appropriately and are encouraged to bring a change of clothes for after school. Volunteer signups will be shared soon.
- Wednesday - Friday are Minimum Days the Last Week of School.
- We are seeking dedicated community members to serve on the BVA Board of Directors. If you are passionate about supporting our school and helping shape its future, we encourage you to apply.

Lower Campus families are invited to a special parent workshop hosted by our community partners, Valley Health Associates, on Thursday, May 28 at 8:45 AM in the Lower Campus Art Room.
This workshop will provide practical tools and strategies for:
- Supporting healthy child development
- Strengthening positive communication at home
- Guiding children toward safe and healthy choices
- Building strong family connections
- Drug-Use Prevention

Bay View Academy is excited to once again partner with the YMCA and now also with SparkMakers (formerly known as STEAM831) to offer a fun, engaging, and enriching Summer Camp Program for students in TK–6th grade!

On Saturday, May 23rd, at the Moose Lodge we will be celebrating Mariachi music with a very special event: "Canten, Mariachis, Toquen, a Mariachi sing along with Mariachi Santa Cruz! This event will also feature performances by the Palenke Arts' Bilingual Chorus, and our community members. T ickets are $25 and available here There will also be tacos available for purchase.
Mariachi Santa Cruz was founded in 2009 in Santa Cruz, California. Over the years, the group has performed at festivals, concerts, parades, and private events throughout the region. Originally from California, Jalisco, Michoacán, and Guanajuato, Mexico, all members come from families with deep mariachi traditions. Their music reflects generations of heritage, passion, and a shared love for authentic mariachi.

Catholic Charities Diocese of Monterey will be at Soper Field (220 Coe Ave, Seaside, CA 93955) on Monday, June 1, from 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM for its Immigration Clinic. The team will provide trusted help with: Immigration Legal Consultations, DACA and green card renewals, and Family Preparedness Planning Assistance. |
